Mill Creek Regional Park

Looking for a passive hike, actually, more of a wilderness stroll with benefits, look no further than Mill Creek Falls. This is a perfect outing for families with young children or when you have a narrow window of time to explore the outdoors.

The forested walkway features bridges, stairways and a few creekside spots to stop for a snack on your way to the falls. The well-shaded path winds alongside Mill Creek leading to the first waterfall, children and adults alike can stand on a flat rock bench below the falls to take in the view. If you are comfortable, adults or accompanied children can also walk onto a rock formation at the top of the waterfall.

The path leading to the second fall might be a wee bit challenging for parents with toddlers or adults with mobility issues but is well worth the little bit of distance you’ll have to travel to get there. If you want to extend your hike, there is plenty of wooded space beyond the official park boundaries, just make sure to stay safe.
